Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me. :la:
Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang. :D
The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Friday: I didn't sew or do anything cause I would be wearing a suit lol XD and also :iconwild-white-wolf19: and my friend came to my house to do some final preparations for the con 8D :iconhappyblueplz:

Saturday: I came WAY too early to the con at 7:00 I basically came 2nd to the con with my friend (henry) and woke up too early too at 5:00 I know it was a pretty stupid thing to do...

Anyway we waited for way too long I was already getting tired lol! Here are some photos of us before the con started [link] and [link] I guess it was somehow fun waiting anyway as soon as we got in we started to take SO many Photos of people Thank you everyone who was there for being such good Cosplayers!

When all of us went in there was hardly Any merchandise so I only bought 1 thing lol which was a ring.... [link] Also There was NO FOOD! D8 The first con I've ever been to with No Food D8 so we ended up going to a convenience store in a petrol station lol! anyway other than that the con was really fun!

I can't believe I missed WCS Preliminaries that was what I really wanted to see in the begining D8

also i know how you feel about waking up early- one for Supanova (2009) i ended up waking at 2.45am and couldn't sleep though everyone came around 8- I still blame my idiot brother for playing his game so late
